Sunday Encounter Watch this week;s service

Pastor Tommy Barnett has been deemed "Dr. Ecclesia", a teacher of the Church, by Phoenix University of Theology. This distinction is the highest level of recognition of the teaching gift. The Dr. Ecclesia distinction qualifies any of Dr. (Pastor) Barnett's teaching as credit worthy.
Did you know that the term Doctor means teacher and is derived from the Greek word Didaskalos. In the New Testament context a "Doctor" is a teacher who teaches concerning the things of God and the duties of man.
Ecclesia is the word used by Jesus when speaking to Peter and said "upon this rock I will build my Ecclesia (Church) Therefore the title Dr. Ecclesia signifies one who teaches the Church concerning the things of God and the duties of man. No one does it better than "Dr. Tommy".

Fusion for Life provides opportunity for credit worthy instruction combined with small group discussion which enhances the potential for the Christian learning experience.
You can keep a journal of your learning experiences through your Ministry Development ePortfolio.

DID YOU KNOW that the word disciple means "learner"? Sunday University provides you with the opportunity to be a good LEARNER.

Phoenix First Sunday University represents a revolutionary approach to church based adult Christian education. The standards set for curriculum and teacher qualifications by Phoenix First have qualified its Christian educational programs for credit recognition by Phoenix University of Theology.

Phoenix University of Theology offers college level credit in the form of Ministry Development Units (MDUs) for learning through Sunday University, Fusion and Pulpit Instruction.

Ministry Development Units are equal to Continuing Education Units in their measurement. Ten hours of instruction equals one MDU or CEU. The MDU, unlike the CEU, is convertible to college level credit. A sufficient number of MDUs are accumulated to equal a semester hour (1.2 to 1.5). When combined with learning assessment and teacher certification each 1.5 MDUs are equivalent to 1 credit hour.

Example:

Sunday University 1 hr
Sunday a.m. service 1 hr
Sunday p.m. service 1 hr
Wednesday evening service 1 hr.
Fusion 1/2 hour
Total for the week 4.5 hours of instruction.

Four weeks of regular attendance and participation = 18 hours or 1.8 MDUs.
With assessment and certification = 1.2 credit hours.
Regular attendance and participation for 12 months = potential of 15.6 credit hours
(52 weeks X 4.5 hours of instruction = 234 hours of instruction, divided by 15 MDU's = 15.6).
